The International Maritime Organization (IMO) is the authority for setting global security, safety and environmental performance of international shipping. According to the IMO website, international shipping transports more than 80% of global trade all over the world. It is for this reason that the IMO was created, to have standard international regulations that can impose effective and efficient work among countries. The IMO’s Agenda 2030 includes a vision to utilize a more environmentally sustainable transportation system.
